Matthew 19:8 (NIV Bible) 8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.
Some people have hard hearts. A hard hearted person shows no kindness or compassion for other people. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Matthew 19:8 makes it clear that the number one driver of divorce during the days of Moses was that a husband and/or his wife had a hard heart. Unfortunately, even today many relationships end up in separation or divorce simply because a husband or wife or both of them have hard hearts.
People with hard hearts are not moved even if they cause someone great pain and often they can deliberately increase the amount of pain and harm that they are inflicting to their spouse. Hard hearted people are unteachable, cannot be corrected, are very proud. Such people can even prophess to be Christians yet they will not change their behaviour even when you show them Scriptures that prove that their behaviour or manner of living is against God’s Word.
Hard hearted people do not forgive others who have done wrong to them. Hard hearted people do not apologise for the wrongs that they do and yet expect to be forgiven without delay by those they have inflicted pain and harm on. Hard hearted people are selfish and only their opinion or point of view must be accepted uncontested. Hard hearted people are not good listeners at all.
If you are single and desire to get married, do not get married to a person who is hard hearted. To do so is to sign up for a life of hell on earth! Do not do it.
Do not have a hard heart.
